How do you fix accessibility

1 minute read

Preparing to fix accessibility issues isn't fixing them.

Neither is:

  • adding accessibility issues to your backlog
  • scheduling accessibility fixes for three sprints from now
  • telling everyone you're committed to accessibility
  • tooling up and doing accessibility research
  • reading books about accessibility
  • writing a 30-page plan to implement accessibility in your SDLC
  • announcing Q2 of next year as the moment you will be accessible
  • doing an internal email blast to all your employees about accessibility
  • writing a snarky tweet or a well-thought LinkedIn post about accessibility
  • getting all excited about what it'll be like after you've fixed accessibility
  • complaining about the obstacles in the way of fixing accessibility

Things that are fixing accessibility:

  • fixing accessibility
